What types of clients do you see?
We see a wide variety of clients who present with a range of different goals. Even our most independent and self-sufficient clients find it beneficial to have a safe space to work through their issues collaboratively with someone who is objective.

The Philadelphia Therapy Group offers affordable therapeutic services. All fees are based on a 50 minute session. Cash, checks, and credit cards are all acceptable methods of payment. Payment is due when services are rendered. A free initial, 15-minute phone consultation is available, per request to help you see which of our therapists may be the best match for you.
How long and how often is therapy?
Therapy is an ongoing process. In the beginning we typically meet every week to every other week, however we do not want to overwhelm our clients and therefore, we decide together on a meeting schedule. Sessions are typically 50 minutes. As we said before, therapy is an ongoing process, there may be times where clients need to be seen less frequently but we always suggest to clients to have a "check up" session every several months when things are going well. We typically have physicals for our body, and we need to treat our mental health the same way to avoid major issues. There are no rules for how long successful therapy should take. The client determines when his or her needs have been met.
Why is it Important to find a therapist I feel comfortable with?
In order for therapy to be effective, there needs to be a strong, healthy, positive relationship between therapist and client. When entering into a therapeutic relationship with our clients, we want them to feel safe and empowered. We realize that it takes time to build a relationship with our clients as we started out as strangers, but over time we hope to build a positive therapeutic alliance. As therapists, We may point out and discuss things that may be hard to hear clients to hear however, we always work with clients so that they leave the counseling session on a positive note.
What if I have to cancel an appointment?
We completely understand there are often instances that cause our clients to have to cancel their appointments. If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify your therapist 24 hours prior to your therapy session in order to avoid being charged for the missed appointment. This can be done by contacting your therapist directly by either phone or email. If the session is cancelled within the 24-hour time limit, you may be charged for the missed session unless you and the therapist are able to reschedule the appointment for another time that week.
What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy is simply a common type of psychotherapy. It may be implemented in individual or relationship therapy. There are many misconceptions about sex therapy, but there are no exams, no nudity and no sexual touching between therapist and client. When sex therapy becomes a necessary part of the therapeutic process, we are skilled at making you feel as comfortable as possible talking about this delicate subject. Sex therapy may also be helpful for couples hoping to increase desire, intimacy, and physical connection, LGBTQ clients, survivors of sexual trauma and persons dealing with gender identity.
